1 subjectsHow to practise
What to practise
Use unfamiliar problems to make your reasoning visible, respond to hints and revise an approach. Interview arrangements vary by course and institution; follow your invitation.
Think aloud
State assumptions, observations and possible next steps, even before you have an answer. Explain how a hint changes your reasoning.
Start with a simple case
Try a small or special example, look for a pattern, then test whether it generalises. Be explicit about uncertainty.
Use follow-up questions
Treat a new condition or challenge as a chance to examine your argument. Acknowledge errors and explain a revised approach.
Stay honest
Say what you do not know and identify what you can work out. Develop your own reasoning rather than memorising a performance.
Original QiaoShen practice, not official interview questions. College assessments and interview arrangements vary by course, college and year; follow the institution's email.
