Overview
OverviewCourse exam training for CAIE 9709 students. The first phase focuses on Pure Mathematics 3, training students to stably identify the method and write out a scoring solution even when a familiar topic is dressed in unfamiliar form, the conditions are hidden, or the calculation path is not obvious.
Format
FormatPure Mathematics 3: 9–11 structured questions, 75 marks
First release Pure Mathematics 3: 110 minutes, 75 marks, 9–11 structured questions; the current 16 original fixed papers each have 11 questions.
Structure
Structure DetailsThe complete A-Level route, depending on the candidate's combination, involves Pure Mathematics 1, Pure Mathematics 3, and either Mechanics or Probability & Statistics. The site initially offers only P3, covering algebra, logarithms and exponentials, trigonometric functions, differentiation, integration, numerical methods, vectors, differential equations and complex numbers; P1, P4, P5 and P6 will be opened after the corresponding content is completed.
Scoring
ScoringP3 is worth 75 marks in total, with marks awarded by step for structured questions. Students should show the necessary working; non-exact values are usually given to the required number of significant figures. The AI scoring on this site is for training feedback only; the final marks and mark scheme are subject to Cambridge's official materials.
Preparation tips
Key Tips- ▸First identify the method the question is actually testing, then proceed to the calculation; an unfamiliar wording does not mean it is beyond the syllabus.
- ▸For exponential substitution, inverse trigonometric functions, complex arguments and radical results, always check the domain, the quadrant and any solutions that should be discarded.
- ▸When integrating, first look for derivative pairings, degree differences and separable structure, so as to avoid expanding into long expressions right from the start.
- ▸In vector problems, translate each geometric condition into a separate equation and then solve them simultaneously; do not try to handle all the conditions at once in your head.
- ▸A whole-paper review records whether errors occurred in recognition, execution, checking or time allocation, so as to distinguish knowledge weaknesses from on-the-spot fluctuations.
